A Wooden Advent Wreath Kids Can Build, Hold And Play With

Most Advent wreaths are made to be looked at, not touched. Real candles and dried greenery mean little hands get told to keep away, right when children are most curious about the season.

This wooden advent wreath turns that around. It is a solid wood building set for kids aged 3 and up, so they can put the wreath together, place each candle and follow the four Sundays of Advent with their own hands. There is no flame to light and no needles to sweep up, so it can sit on a low table at home all season.

Three purple candles and one pink candle follow the traditional advent wreath colors. Each candle marks one week of waiting for the birth of Christ, often linked to hope, peace, joy and love. It gives your family a simple way to talk about the reason for the season, one Sunday at a time.

Why Families Choose This Wooden Advent Wreath

Children understand Advent best when they get to take part. This set is built around that idea.

Made For Little Hands

Every piece is crafted from solid wood and sized for small hands to grip, stack and set in place. Kids can build the ring, slot each candle into its candle hole and start again as often as they like.

Building it together becomes part of your Advent journey, and the pieces stand up to years of play.

Safe To Leave Out All Season

The wreath meets or exceeds all US toy testing standards. Because the candles are wood, there is no flame and none of the fire risk that comes with dried evergreens, so the wreath can stay where children can reach it.

Please note it contains small parts, so it is not for children under 3. We suggest keeping loose pieces off the floor and away from pets.

A Family Tradition That Lasts

Fresh greenery dries out and sheds. This wooden advent wreath needs no misting and no cleanup, and when the season ends the pieces pack back into the reusable storage box, ready for next year.

Over time it can become a well-loved piece passed down to younger brothers, sisters and cousins. If a piece goes missing along the way, Wicking Vicar offers spare toy parts for its faith-filled toy sets, so your set stays complete.

How To Celebrate Advent With Your Kids

On the first Sunday, children place the first purple candle and talk about hope. Each Sunday after, they add the next one. The pink candle marks the third Sunday and the joy of Christmas drawing near. By the fourth Sunday the wreath is complete and the waiting is almost over.

The tradition has a long history. The first modern Advent wreath was created by Johann Hinrich Wichern in 1839, and families have used the wreath to count down to Christmas ever since.

A hands-on wooden advent set gives kids their own special part in the advent season, and a few minutes each week to talk about God's promise and the coming of Christ. It is an easy way to create a family tradition that children look forward to every year.
